Many have questions about death that we rarely get the chance to discuss. What does Buddhism say happens when we die? How can we prepare for our own death, practically as well as spiritually? How do we support someone we love as they pass away, whether that’s a family member, a friend or a much-loved animal? And what could a funeral look like for a practising Buddhist?
This day is an opportunity to explore these kinds of questions in an open, practical way. David will offer some reflections, short guided practices and time for questions and discussion. We’ll explore the Buddhist view of dying, the practices traditionally done around the time of passing, and how to reflect what matters to you in a funeral. Everyone leaves with a Death Plan, a simple guide for recording your wishes and sharing them with the people closest to you.
Open to everyone, Buddhist or not.
This half day is online, streamed live on Zoom. We offer a sliding scale, guided by the Buddhist principle of generosity. The suggested rates help cover the cost of the day and support our ongoing activities. If you’re unable to afford the suggested rates, please choose the donation option or get in touch. No one is excluded because they cannot afford to come.
