Choose Compassion

David Oromith · 34 minutes · recorded January 28, 2024

In the meditation on the four immeasurables, built from loving kindness, we extend first to ourselves, then to someone we love, someone neutral and someone we find difficult, each time imagining them free of suffering and rejoicing in their happiness. David shares two quotes from the Dalai Lama on the practical benefits of compassion, and talks about how the divide we draw between us and them closes the heart. He asks that when we meet unkindness, we choose kindness anyway.
