This is a guided meditation on R.A.I.N., recorded by Charlotte Adler. R.A.I.N. is a method by which we release painful emotions through mindfulness and self-compassion. Charlotte explains more about R.A.I.N. in Episode 13 of this podcast. This is a beautiful meditation and we’re so grateful to Charlotte for her kindness in sharing this with us. We’re sure it will benefit many. May all beings be happy.

Having worked as an artist in London for over twenty years, it has also been my honour and privilege to practice as a healer and therapeutic counsellor for the last thirteen years, helping women to deal with all aspects of recovery in the aftermath of addiction and trauma. Extensive studies in Buddhist Psychology plus spent in Northern India practicing both yoga and meditation, have led me to my current position, offering, with the greatest joy, accessible Dharma workshops and guided meditation to retreatants at all levels of study and practice.

David is an experienced contemplative and meditation guide who has studied the mind, meditation, and Buddhism for several years. He is the Co-Founder of Samadhi and a qualified Mindfulness teacher, Mental Health First Aider, and an active member of the Association for Spiritual Integrity. In his own practise and teachings, David focusses on the core themes of Early Buddhism and emphasises the practices of Shamatha (meditative quiescence), and its union with Vipassana on the Four Applications of Mindfulness and the Four Immeasurables – which presents a direct path leading to the realisation of our deepest nature and the potentials of consciousness, and closely follows how the Buddha himself attained enlightenment. He considers himself to be the fortunate student of many teachers, including his root lama, Lama Alan Wallace.
