Discover Shamatha Meditation

Observing the Mind

Glen Svensson · 77 minutes

Bare attention comes first, a guided meditation in which we cycle through the visual, auditory, tactile and mental fields, in the seen only the seen. Glen Svensson then moves the object of shamatha from the breath to the mind itself, using Dudjom Lingpa's instruction to let thoughts be as they are rather than let them go. In a second guided practice we watch thoughts, emotions and memories arise and pass with the eyes partly open. Questions cover a noisy home and what to do when a full dream unfolds.
