Mindfulness of Breathing (Abdomen)

Glen Svensson · 76 minutes

The abdomen becomes the object, the sensations of its rising and lowering, and counting to ten at the end of each in-breath is offered midway as a short term aid to stability. Glen Svensson draws out the coarse, medium and subtle levels of laxity and excitation, and what to do according to how strong each is, then walks the first four of the nine stages, up to close attention. A second practice follows, in which we release on the out-breath and sharpen focus on the in-breath. A participant asks whether moving through all four in one meditation is normal.
