Dreaming of Reality: Sleeping, Dreaming & Dying in Tibetan Buddhism

D6S4 - Searching for the Mind

Lama Alan · 63 minutes · recorded January 1, 2019

A second pass at vipashyana, this time following Padmasambhava's Searching for the Mind: is the mind that is placed the same as the one placing it, has it any location or size, and is it an emptiness that is nothing? Lama Alan Wallace then draws out what a basis of designation is, teasing one participant over whether a waving hand counts as seeing his body. He argues that the close applications of mindfulness are phenomenology, and belong with the ontology of the perfection of wisdom.
