One Week Retreat - Shamatha and the Four Immeasurables

D2 Morning Practice - Settling Body, Speech and Mind in Their Natural States

David Oromith · 49 minutes · recorded August 19, 2025

A guided meditation on settling body, speech and mind in their natural states, repeating the practice done the previous evening. The first twenty minutes are guided throughout: we drop awareness into tactile sensations in the body, releasing tension in the face, neck and shoulders, then settle the breath into its natural rhythm, letting go of past and future until the mind comes to rest. The second twenty minutes are practised alone. David asks practitioners to take their time rather than rush.
