The third of six standalone seminars in Ian Baker's Vajra Path series, on the completion stage practices of union. Baker reads from the Hevajra and Kalachakra tantras and quotes Marpa on completing the four joys, distinguishing karma mudra, undertaken with a partner, from jnana mudra with an imagined consort, and describing the underlying work with the breath and with the red and white drops. He traces what happened to a non celibate practice once Tibetan Buddhism became monastic, where it was adapted and where it was distorted, and draws throughout on contemporary psychology and neuroscience. A presentation with slides followed by questions, including on practising with ageing and injury. Nothing is taught here as practice: the material is described and set in its context.
