This Precious Human Life

'This Precious Human Life' is a one-day retreat, held in London and online, exploring Tibetan Buddhist teachings on the rarity and preciousness of human life and impermanence. Open to all, especially those exploring or practising the Buddhist path.

'This Precious Human Life' is a one-day retreat inspired by the profound teachings contained in the Four Revolutions in Outlook (also known as the Four Thoughts that Turn the Mind). We explore meditations, contemplations and teachings on the rarity and preciousness of our human existence, and on the transient nature of life (impermanence). There are also discussions on the reality of our suffering (duhkha) and actions and their consequences (karma). Through reflection and practice, this day aims to deepen your appreciation of the preciousness of your life and the opportunities you have, and inspire a powerful boost for authentic Dharma practice. It is for everyone, particularly those exploring the Buddhist path, whether for the first time or as a seasoned practitioner. These themes are regarded as indispensable in all schools of Tibetan Buddhism and are taught as the common, outer preliminaries for more advanced practice.
