During this 4-week course, we will explore insights and practical methods from the book 'A Practical Guide to Mindful Living: Five Ways to Restore Presence and Calm Amidst Challenge & Change.' (Physical copies available at the in-person class). You'll learn how to take charge of your internal world, manage stress effectively, and find peace in everyday life, regardless of external circumstances. The course is centred around four of the main chapters from the book, looking at how to build a regular meditation practice, live with intention and purpose, stay grounded in the present, and gain a deeper understanding of our minds, thoughts, and emotions.
These teachings draw from both Buddhist and Western psychology, offering a transformative approach to life's challenges.
Week 1: "Cultivating Mindfulness Through a Regular Meditation Practice"
Week 2: "Leading a Meaningful and Deliberate Life"
Week 3: "Living in the Now, Not In Our Imagination"
Week 4: "Mindfulness of the Mind, Thoughts and Emotions"
These classes consist of easy-to-follow guided meditations, talks and discussions covering a different aspect of meditation & Buddhist mind-training each week.
The talks explore the inner causes of things like stress and anxiety and provide you with new tools to reduce these and feel more positive and peaceful, no matter what’s going on in life.
Classes are suitable for everyone, seating is on chairs (or bring your own cushion/yoga mat), and no special clothing is needed – just come as you are. *Please pre-book*
