Welcome to the green part of Samadhi

Sustainability and Gardening

Meditation is not our only passion. There is a climate and ecological emergency, and we are committed to proactively being a part of the solution as best we can.

Sustainability

Who are we, and what is our goal?

We are a group of humans that want to make this world a better place to be, starting with our inner selves and extending it to nature and other sentient beings. Samadhi is a small not-for-profit organisation, led by our Founders David and Manu and run entirely by volunteers.

YOU are connected

Finding inner peace is very important, but this cannot be achieved in isolation. Every thing and every living being on this planet are part of an infinite network of interdependent relationships. When we view it in this way, we can see the world as one great entity. We must heal, love, and care for this entity as a whole.

"We have a brief window of opportunity to take action, to preserve humanity from imminent disaster and to assist the survival of the many diverse and beautiful forms of life on Earth. Future generations, and the other species that share the biosphere with us, have no voice to ask for our compassion, wisdom and leadership. We must listen to their silence. We must be their voice, too, and act on their behalf.

Grow Your Own

Growing Guides for your vegetable patch

Carrots are actually a pretty easy vegetable to grow. The most important thing to know is that carrots don’t like to be transplanted, so they need to be sown directly into the ground. As carrots seeds are tiny, another tip is to take special care to not put too many in the same location when sowing.

Broccoli can be a bit more of a challenge if you’re unsure how to care for the plant. Important to know is that broccoli is a cold crop and it will flower when the temperatures are very high. Harvesting at the right time is key.

The first thing we need to know is that there are spring, summer and winter cabbages, the growing method is the same for all of them, but the sowing time will vary depending on the season.
