Online Buddhist Study Group
A practical way to study Buddhism online
Join our live Online Buddhist Study Group with David Oromith on Tuesdays, 7:00–8:30pm (UK time). Each week blends meditation practice with clear, down-to-earth Buddhist teaching and space to ask questions, reflect, and connect with others who are applying the Dharma in everyday life.
Samadhi is a UK registered charity offering non-sectarian meditation and Buddhist education, welcoming people of all backgrounds and levels of experience.
What happens each Tuesday (7:00–8:30pm UK)
Guided meditation
We often begin with meditation training (such as shamatha and vipashyana) to develop stability, clarity, and insight.
Teaching and study
There will be a teaching exploring our topic from the Buddhist tradition. Sessions emphasise the practical application of the teachings.
Q&A and discussion
There is time to ask questions, clarify the teachings, and explore how to practise in real life. You do not need to be an expert to join in.
Upcoming Online Buddhist Courses and Events
Below you’ll find the next live courses and events in our Online Buddhist Study Group, so you can join the next session that speaks to where you are right now. If you’re new, you’re warmly welcome. If you’ve been practising for years, we hope you’ll find a space to deepen your understanding and keep your practice grounded in real life.

Meet your teacher: David Oromith
David Oromith is a Buddhist contemplative, meditation guide, and co-founder of Samadhi. Before discovering Buddhism, he worked in mental health services and became concerned that many approaches focused on suppressing symptoms rather than addressing the inner causes of distress. Through his own journey with depression, the Buddha’s teaching on the Four Noble Truths became a doorway into healing and practice.
David teaches in a clear, practical way, and his style is warm and accessible. He has studied with teachers across multiple Buddhist traditions, with a strong non-sectarian orientation, and Samadhi follows the approach of Lama B. Alan Wallace (our Spiritual Patron).
Start with the essentials: The Buddha’s Path (12-module study programme)
If you want a structured route through the foundations, we recommend our The Buddha’s Path: Foundational Buddhist Study Programme. It includes 12 modules, all recorded live, and is now self-paced, so you can move through it at a pace that suits your life.
This programme pairs beautifully with the Tuesday group: study a module in your own time, then bring questions and reflections to the live sessions.
You can also explore our full library of recordings from previous courses and series, so you can study themes such as meditation training, Buddhist psychology, and core teachings whenever it suits you.
