“Mind Training for Modern Life” Online Retreat

5 Days to Explore Transforming Difficulties into Greater Wellbeing

Thursday 21st May – Monday 25th May 2026

About the retreat

Join us for an online weekend Buddhist meditation retreat

Join David and Manu Oromith for a five-day live-streamed retreat exploring Buddhist mind training.

This online retreat brings the heart of our in-person retreat in Devon to you at home, with live-streamed teachings, guided meditations, and nourishing yoga practices.

Lojong (mind training) is an ancient Tibetan Buddhist approach to working with life and its challenges, transforming daily difficulties and stress into greater wellbeing and happiness.

In a world as difficult as ours, training in this way is not always easy, but it is often our most meaningful option. When we cannot control what the world brings to us, we can still control how we respond and what we bring to the world.

Together, we’ll explore the foundations of authentic mind training, then turn to specific methods and teachings, with a focus on how they apply to modern life. These practices help you turn your entire life into an opportunity to grow in wisdom and compassion, so that how you live is more closely aligned with the kind of person you want to be and the kind of life you want to lead.

This retreat is also taking place in person, in Devon. If you’d like to join us in person instead, up-to-date availability can be found here

What to Expect From an Online Retreat Experience

From the comfort of your own home

You can engage with this course in whatever way suits you most. This can mean setting aside the week to follow along live and make it a full retreat in your own space, or following the recordings at your own pace, or anything in between.

How does it work to join live?

It’s really important to us that you feel a part of the retreat and connected with both the teachings and what is happening online and offline.

We arrange the tech in such a way as to mean you can both see and hear the teacher, but also the participants in the room, meaning that you don’t miss out on any questions or discussions that take place. You’re also able to ask questions, and the teacher and the room are able to see and hear you, as if you were there in person.

During the day, there will also be an opportunity for the online attendees to come together to share, discuss and reflect on the day’s activities as a group. There will also be an optional WhatsApp group – an opportunity to keep connected and chat with others.

Feedback from participants in previous years was wonderful; they really felt a part of the retreat and that it was no different doing it from the comfort of their own home. They formed some very supportive relationships with other online attendees, which continued long after the retreat ended.

We invite you to come along and be a part of this programme.

Unable to Join Live?

If you’re unable to follow live, video recordings are uploaded (unedited) within a few hours of the live session happening. Higher quality recordings are uploaded after the retreat. The recordings will remain on the website indefinitely, so you can revisit the teachings and practices again and again.
