During this 4-week course, we will explore the ‘Eight Worldly Concerns’, said to be the driving attachments and aversions that we cycle through endlessly in our pursuit of happiness and avoidance of pain. There are four hopes and four corresponding fears, and preoccupation with these ‘worldly winds’ is said to be an obstacle to experiencing genuine, lasting wellbeing and happiness.
Exploring them together will offer insights into overcoming these obstacles to happiness. We will learn how to cultivate a balanced mind that can remain undisturbed by challenge and change, leading to a profound sense of peace and contentment.
